Massachusetts always has open arms for the producers of Independent Films. Of all the states, we are the ones most receptive of their original creations. Truly, we recognize that the efforts of those hidden from the spotlight might rival or even be beyond the quality of most supposed blockbusters.
With the prevalence of Indie Films in our State comes the prevalence of craft fairs in the places where they commonly show. There’s just something to be said about the artistry of Indie films and how it attracts likewise artistic craftspeople. For sure, the two mediums have many things in common.
These types of films attract crowds with a taste for the unusual. If you are one of these people, then I guarantee that you will find something to like in the artistry of those crafts as well. As an added bonus, you can talk to the craftsperson that made it more often than not; they have a tendency to man the booths themselves. By hearing their insights on their work, you will appreciate the item even more.
So then, the question is this: As it’s not mainstream, how do you know exactly when will there be an Indie Film Festival? Indie Films, after all, can be erratic, and the exact schedules can be difficult to figure out. While the films themselves are erratic, however, the festivals in which they will be held are not. So when looking for these shows, look towards the craft fairs that accompany them. Their schedules are listed on the Internet far earlier than information on the film festival; but they are held at the same time anyway.
Most of these craft shows, however, will have no film festival attached to them. That is okay. Odds are, if you go to a normal craft show, then the craftspeople minding the booths will have an idea on when the next one will take place. So then, you will have a good idea of when the next one will be taking place.
