The Arm Moves in Wrestling

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

The arm moves in wrestling include the arm breakers, arm drags, over the shoulder arm drags, arm swings, etc. The arm bar take down is another of the moves in wrestling. The arm bar attacks by forcing the arm of the opponent downward.

The challenger feels the pain around the shoulder area and the assailant then grips the arms extending them lengthwise. The shoulder is eventually forced to the mat. This is a pin in most cases unless the wrestler can wriggle his/her way out of the hold.

The arm breakers include slamming of the arms, typically on an area of the opponent’s body where it will hurt. Usually the pin ends with the scissors, where the wrestler’s legs are crossed over the challengers body, holding his/her shoulders down to the mat.

The various moves, manoeuvres and holds appear to be painful in the ring, but the reality is that these wrestling moves are all choreographed, that is, they are just a theatrical show to get your attention. The actors rehearse their scenes long before they get into the ring and are shown how to send ‘signs’ to finish the bout whenever should they want to.

The wrestlingmoves seem real on television, because the cameras and other distractions, including models, divert the attention of the audience. Wrestling is really quite similar to how magicians work. Magicians rehearse their stage act before they go on the stage. There is always a feint or an explanation, yet the magician performs his act so slickly and the audience is so distracted, that the magician makes people believe that he or she is doing the thing for real.

The ‘arm drags’ involve the assailant getting the opponent in a hook move and then flipping the challenger down onto the mats. Most of the moves are devised by one or the other of the wrestlers and sometimes it may become a popular move and so taken up by others. Two of the older moves are the Gallatin and the Banana Split

The ‘over the shoulder’ move should be called the body slam since the opponent will throw the challenger over his shoulder, slamming him/her onto the mat. At one time, this wrestling move was probably a slammer, but today it is the shoulder-arm throw move.

The ‘wringer; is another of the arm moves in wrestling which is sometimes known as the spin wrist lock hold. This move is often followed by the Irish Thrash moves, mallet locks, and gouges.

Some other arm moves include the arm stretches, arm breakers, arm wringer, arm locks, arm bar and arm scissors. While the arm moves are famous in the ring, there are many moves you may see today that you would never have heard of when wrestling first had its beginning in ancient times. The Amityville Horror is one of wrestling’s more modern moves. Although, I haven’t figured out what this move entails, we shall analyse it together.

Right now, from what I see the Amityville Horror is just a ploy to lead people into renting or buying the movie. As for the moves, I did see it listed in the list of wrestling moves; however, as for now no information is available to learn what this move entails. The moves are basically brands from the wrestlers, therefore what I’m assuming is that the wrestler felt he had acted out one of the most horrific moves in wrestling, so he named it the Amityville.

Why is it that some moves get roaring applause? Well, it can start when a wrestler in the ring brings in a new manoeuvre and it becomes his signature, popular final move in his bouts.

5 Tips on Choosing Your Shed With Shed Plans and Designs

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

Once you have determined that you have need of a shed the next thing you will want to decide is just what you are going to store in it. This will help you determine the size and style of the building you are going to want to purchase or build.

When you are determining the style after of course, you are sure its going to meet your needs you want something that is going to blend with your home and landscape. You may also have to consider some restrictions that you are faced with as well. There may be a particular shed that you have come across that will amply fit your needs and the design is perfect, there?s one problem though. It will not fit into the designated area that you have allotted for your new structure.

If this were to happen then you could review the space situation and see if there is an alternative place to put your shed. If not then you will have to change your thinking and find one that is going to fit.

Although there are several things you are going to need to think about prior to buying your shed, the location as we have mentioned is going to be one of the priorities. The next important aspect is what kind of foundation do you want and can use for this project. You will need to consider the condition of the land where the shed it going to sit. If it boggy and wet then there may be some problems choosing an appropriate foundation that won?t sink. If it is on a slope, you need to consider water spill off along the ground.

Once you have the foundation issues and space out of the way, you can then consider more closely, what you want to store. If you have just too many things for the size of shed you are going to have then you may want to think about getting one with a second level.

Style as we said is going to be important especially if it?s well within the viewing area of your general landscape. It needs to fit in with your general outdoor d?cor. If it doesn?t no matter how good it looks, it will seem out of place and overpower the overall look of your garden or landscaping. A good example of this is if you have a Victorian home complete with a Victorian look outside, an ultra modern type design is not going to fit in. You are going to want something more in tune with your house style. The opposite can be said for those who own ultra modern modular homes; the log cabin style shed is just not going to do the overall look any justice.

If you are unable to find anything already, pre made that suits your needs then you may want to consider having one custom made. This way you can make some alterations in layout that may better suit your needs and change the d?cor to match your taste.

Why Every Gardener Needs a Garden Shed – Plans and Design

Friday, May 1st, 2009

Spring rolls around and its time to dip into the pocket book and start getting ready for the summer. There’s planting to be done, and repairs to do. Perhaps there’s a landscaping project on the horizon.

Once the plans are in place and the items are bought its time to get out the tools. Now this is where the real challenge begins. Where did you put them last fall? Probably find some in the basement and then there’s that corner of the garage that has some of the bigger ones. Oh yes don’t forget about the spare room probably tucked some away in there too.

This has all got to tell you something. As if you really need, a garden shed. It’s going to save you time and money in the long run. It’s going to save you time because all of your outdoor tools and equipment can be stored in one place. That means when you are in need of something you can just go and get it because you know where it is. When your garden and outdoor implements are scattered all over the place, it takes a lot of time just remembering where they are and then the search is on.

Money wise they save you a great deal. One of your agreements against the garden shed investment may be you just don’t want to put out that kind of money after all you’ve managed so far.

The longer you live in a house the more you accumulate. You may have managed up until now but the time is coming sooner or later you just won’t have enough storage space.

Yes, it’s going to cost you money to buy your garden shed. Think of it this way though how much has you spent on soil weeding products and fertilizer. You use a portion of them then one of two things happen. You let them sit outside where they get destroyed by the elements, or secondly you end up throwing them out because there is no place to put them.

Most of the lawn and garden equipment that you have probably purchased has not been cheap either. When it’s not stored properly, it can become damaged or even ruined. The other thing to consider is some of the equipment is not safe to be laying around especially where there are young children.

Finally, a garden shed really does add to the ambience of the landscaping. It makes it look neat and just shows that someone really cares about their outdoors. If you aren’t sure, what style to get just look around your neighborhood and you will get a good idea. You need to base your choice according to your needs. If you don’t own a lot of garden supplies and equipment then one of the smaller ones will work nicely. Don’t forget though that those winter items can be conveniently stored here as well so plan your required space accordingly. Once you have got past the fact that you had to lay some money out for your shed you are going to be most glad that you did.

5 Steps To Choose The Perfect Shed Design – Build A Shed Plan

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

If you have any type of outdoor property and you have a garden of any size there is going to come a time when you have to have a shed.

Don’t forget that a shed isn’t just applicable to the summer months, it can be utilized to store all those winter items as well. Once you have determined that you are ready to invest in a shed then you will need to determine if you are going to build it yourself or erect a prefabricated one. Either one there is a little planning involved or you need to follow some steps to make your shed project a successful one.

First Step: Obviously, the primary purpose of your shed is going to be for storage. Then you may want a small amount of space to do some repairs or small hobbies. What you are considering right now is the size. Consider the large summer and winter items. Most certainly, you are going to want to store these in your new shed. Probably the biggest items will be your lawn mower and your snow blower. You need to think about both floor space and wall space. Many of your garden tools can be hung up.

The more you plan and organize the more you will be able to utilize the space. Now that you have an idea of just what you have to store and approximately the size of shed you need there are two more things to consider while you are still on this step. First, you need to determine just where the shed is going to be. If you have a specific amount of space available to you then your shed size is going to have to coincide with that area. Secondly, you need to think of the plan to get your shed a little bigger than what you need right now because no doubt your garden and outdoor inventory will grow.

Step Two: Once you start shopping for your shed you are going to be amazed at the models and styles. You need to constantly keep in mind your needs. If you are going to be working in the shed quite a bit then lighting is going to be important to you. You may want something with windows or preferably a skylight. You want to utilize your walls for handing items.

Step Three: You may have finally determined that you have found the perfect shed. It has everything you need. It?s the right size it has plenty of lighting and there?s room to grow. It?s ultra modern and sleek in design. There?s one problem your home happens to be an English style cottage and your entire landscape is English gardens. Somehow, the ultra modern just isn?t going to fit in with the over all look. You must keep this in mind during your shopping excursion, as it must blend in.

Step Four: Determine everything thing that you are going to need before you erect your shed. No matter whether it?s a build it yourself kit or a prefab. For example, you will need some type of foundation so you need to keep that in mind and any other extras that are applicable to your needs.

Step Five: Finally consider others. Don?t put your shed in a conspicuous place where its going to block a family members window for example. Think about your neighbors as well. I?m sure they would prefer to look out their window at your English garden rather than the back of your shed.

Astronomy: Some Facts

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

How many facts are there to be known or learned about all the objects and phenomenon in our entire universe? Just think: there are about 1 x 10 ^22 stars in the universe, that’s 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars; then there are many of those stars that have planets in orbit around them. Then consider the moons that orbit those planets and the comets and asteroids, the galaxies these stars form, the nebulae and black holes and everything else that’s out there. The amount of information and data is really quite mind-boggling. This article definitely will not contain every fact about astronomy, but they are very interesting facts nevertheless.

We will start by taking a look at a small section of astronomy: “the brightest stars seen from the Earth”. That is excepting the Sun which is roughly 250,000 times nearer than the next nearest star. In fact, it is so bright that when the sky is viewed from the Earth, it blinds out all the other stars in the sky during a phenomenon called daytime.

Remember that according to the scale for the magnitudes given, lower numbers are brighter. Our Sun would be about -26.73, while the full moon is -12.6. So, with that in mind, here are the top 5:

#5 is Vega, which means “falling eagle” in Arabic is in Lyra. It’s roughly 25 light years away and has a magnitude of 0.04.

When considering these astronomical facts, please remember that ‘brightest from Earth’ doesn’t mean largest or brightest. The Sun is not the largest or brightest star in the universe or even the galaxy, yet it appears so bright because it is so near compared to other stars.

#4 is Rigel – a very bright, bluish-white supergiant star in the constellation Orion. It is a binary star, with an average apparent magnitude of 0.12. It’s scientific name is Beta Orionis. Rigel is Arabic for ‘foot’. It’s about four light years from Earth.

#3 is Arcturus. The name is Latin/Greek and means ‘guardian of the bear’. This star is roughly 37 light years away. It is in the constellation of Bootes, behind The Great Bear. It has a magnitude of 0.00

#2 Canopus – the Greek name of the pilot of the sailing ship Argo in the stories of Jason and the Argonauts, is the brightest, however, because it is 313 light years from Earth, it’s only second in this list of the five brightest stars seen from Earth. It has a magnitude of -.62.

#1 is Sirius, which means ‘scorching’ in Greek. It’s also called the ‘Dog Star’ because it is the brightest star in the constellation of Canis Major, which means ‘The Big Dog’ in Latin. It is only 9 light years from Earth, which makes it the second closest of these top five. From Earth it has a magnitude of -1.44, which makes it quite easily the brightest star as seen in the night sky.

This information doesn’t even scratch the surface on the subject of astronomy facts but it’s something to consider next time you look into the night sky.

Safety Shower Required In Work Environment

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Accidental occurrence can take place even when there are well defence protections and good disaster controls in place. So, it is imperative to deliver safety equipment like goggles, boots, gloves, shields, and other protective cog. Safety showers and eyewash stations must be provided to minimize the exposure to perilous chemicals.

The first 10 seconds are critical after a person has been exposed to any hazardous substance. Any delay, even of a few seconds can cause serious injury. Safety showers can also be used to wash off corrosive contaminants from clothing and to extinguish fire from clothing. The distance of a safety shower should not be more then 50 to 100 feet from the work area. In case highly corrosive chemicals are being used then the distance from work place to the safety shower should not exceed 20 feet. There should not be any obstacles on the way from the work area to the safety shower.

The protection shower should have a diameter of at least 20 inches so that the whole body is sprayed with the shower and not just the head. The security shower should be designed such that it gets turned on in a second. The knob, lever, or button to turn on the protection shower should be clear. The flushing fluid in the safety shower should either be drinkable water, preserved water, or any medically suitable solution.

There should be enough supply of water in the safety shower to allow the user to shower for at least 20 minutes. The water temperature in a safety shower should be tepid and the water pressure should be low. High temperature and high pressure showers can be damaging. For mild irritants a minimum 5 minutes shower is recommended. For moderate to severe irritants and non penetrating corrosives the shower time should be increased to 20 minutes. For penetrating corrosives the time should be 60 minutes.

A new-fangled pair of coveralls and foot wear should be reachable in the shield shower area. The safety showers should be checked cyclically to determine they are in working condition. A perfunctory alarm should be triggered when a safety shower is in use and maintain therapeutic consciousness should be activated.

Laboratories, high dirt areas, perilous material filling and giving out areas, and where showering is done should have security showers fixed. The security showers should be set up close to an exit, and on the same floor where the work is being done.

The amount of security showers necessary to be installed in a work place will rely on two factors. First, how high are the chances of workers getting into an accident? Secondly, how many workers work in that area? The confined safety board and their procedure should be followed in making this judgment. The safety shower equipment to be installed and what flushing fluid to use may be synchronized by the local safety board.

In any risky working surroundings, safety showers are the second line of protection. Therefore, they should be treated like any other safety gear which means that their safeguarding, recurring checks, and refilling etc must be regulated. Security showers can make the variation between a minor lesion and a sufferer.
