A great way to get traffic and create backlinks is to use article submission services. With that said, some article submission services are better then others.
It is important to check and make sure the the article submission service is sending out unique content to the different directories. Some of them will just send out the same article to a bunch of different directories.
When they send out the same article you will have a much less likely chance that your articles will get listed high in the search engines. If you send out unique articles you have the possibility of getting multiple listings on the first page of Google. The more articles you have listed the more traffic you will get.
Another thing to be aware of is that if a submission site uses article spinning you will not get near the results then if they provide you with unique content. When an article is created using keyword spinning the article it produces is only about thirty percent original.
This greatly diminishes the overall visitors coming to your site.
Another big question you should ask is what the quality is of the sites your article will go to. If all of the site have a very low PR then the backlinks will not count for as much and your articles will not hold much importance to the search engines.
The last thing to look for is price. Is it a one time fee to send out x amount of articles or is it a monthly fee that allows you to send out as many articles as you want?
A lot of article submission services will charge you a one time fee for sending x amount of articles out to directories. This can be very expensive (hundreds of dollars) especially if you have a lot of articles you plan on submitting.
